3802 LLU MAX BOSL - Solid lubrication radial bearing, double row, MAX design, black oxide, ABEC-3, 15mm x 24mm x 7mm - Solid lubrication bearings have a solid polymer infused with lubricant that replaces grease inside the bearing, eliminating any space for water or dirt to collect inside the bearing. Enduro Bearings created the MAX type bearings over 20 years ago for bikes to tackle the challenges of mountain bike pivots. MAX type bearings offer a load capacity 35 to 40% higher than standard radial bearings due to a special design that allows the maximum number of balls to be inserted into the bearing, via a custom machined slot in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep grooves in these bearings, provide better lateral support for the twisting and multidirectional forces associated with mountain bike pivots. This MAX type, double row, black oxide bearing, ABEC-3, features high carbon alloy steel 52100 races coupled with two rows of grade 10 balls. Enduro engineers design all our radial bearings with deeper grooves to accommodate the largest possible balls, providing maximum contact area and significantly increased durability of the bearings. Specifically designed for bicycle applications, the LLU sealing lips used in these bearings employ a double-lip labyrinth design to provide maximum protection against the elements. The black oxide/magnetite coating offers an additional level of corrosion resistance and worry-free extended performance. The robust double row design of this bearing offers double the load capacity with a slightly (2mm) wider footprint than a similarly sized single row bearing. This type of bearing has been used as a suspension pivot bearing by several bike brands.
